Finding balance of my own . . .
I finally allowed myself the indulgence of reading a book (that didn't involve a duck, a truck or a pig). Something that I hadn't found time for in over a year. It came to me from my sister who told me she "had to" buy it for me . . . for those of you who haven't already read "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert go to the store (or library) now!
What struck me (perhaps) most was the search for balance. As a small business owner and mother of two (3 1/2 and 14 months) it's something I struggle with every day. And whether you work (outside the home) or not I know most of you are right there with me.
So I am a work in progress. I have learned a thing or two (from the book and otherwise) first and foremost to accept your day for what it becomes, not what you planned it to be. I've accepted the reality that I may not get a thing done before 8pm, that I feel better all day long if I spend half an hour in the morning playing "cars" rather than trying to sneak in a response to one more email. And perhaps this is because when I'm "old and gray" I know I will remember the giggles of my munchkins with far more fondness than the order we received today (which we are thankful for as well!). . .
